Fire Control

Fire Control for California will initially include the following functions beyond those normally seen on Big Gun ships:

1. Firing Interval Timer
2. Push-Button Rotation
3. Automatic Rotation Alignment

The Firing Interval Timer is designed to prevent fast firing of the cannons. Main and secondary armaments will be limited to 6 and 2 second firing intervals respectively.

Push-Button Rotation will allow specific, predetermined bearing settings to be selected from the Tx.

Automatic Rotation Alignment will allow each turret pairing to locate its true centerline in relation to the ship's hull. If a turret is knocked out of index with the controller, this function will correct the misalignment.

Each of these capabilities will be PIC controlled. They are the absolute minimum that the Project will accept, and have been identified as critical for the ship's survivability against larger and faster opponents.
